The Financial Communications Society has awarded RetireGuide with a gold trophy at the 27th Annual FCS Portfolio Awards. The awards recognize creative excellence in marketing communications work from financial companies.

RetireGuide — which beat out companies like J.P. Morgan Wealth Management and AIG Life and Retirement — is the only organization that is not a financial institution to place in the website category.

“This recognition underscores what a great team we have at RetireGuide,” said Terry Turner, senior writer. “We launched just a little over a year ago, and to be recognized with companies like J.P. Morgan and AIG is a testament to the ingenuity and abilities of people I’m proud to work with.”

RetireGuide is a health and wealth website dedicated to providing accurate and well-researched information on a variety of retirement topics. Areas covered range from Medicare to annuities and retirement lifestyle. The website follows strict editorial guidelines, with content reviewed by financial experts like certified public accountants (CPAs) and chartered financial analysts (CFAs).

The RetireGuide site is maintained by a team of experienced journalists and has been referenced in BuzzFeed, the U.S. News & World Report and GOBankingRates. Its previous guides have been highlighted by the American Bar Association and the Administration for Community Living.

The FCS, which was founded more than 50 years ago, is a non-profit professional society. Its annual awards were decided by a panel of more than 40 judges.

RetireGuide was previously named as a finalist for the FCS Portfolio Awards in May.
